Tillsonburg to honour Weston family and Doug Wilson through parks
The Town of Tillsonburg will formally recognize the contributions of the Weston family and Doug Wilson on Thursday, July 25 by naming parks in their honour.
The parks, located in the Northcrest neighbourhood, opened to the public in the fall of 2023 and are extremely popular with young families who live in the area.
In January of 2024, members of the public had the opportunity to suggest commemorative names for the parks. After receiving a variety of nominations, the Commemorative Naming Committee recommended Weston Family Park and Doug Wilson Park for Council approval on April 8, 2024.
Members of the public are invited to join the Mayor and Council for unveiling of the new signage on Thursday, July 25. The dedication ceremony for Doug Wilson Park will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a similar ceremony for Weston Family Park at 5:50 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
