Tillsonburg Update - November 21
2024 Fall Loose Leaf Collection
Loose leaf collection in the Town of Tillsonburg will continue through November 24, with ongoing collection throughout the program.
How to prepare your leaves:
- Rake or place your loose leaves into a neat pile at the curb of the street in front of your address. For streets not having a curb, leaves can be placed on asphalt shoulder or edge of the street in a neat pile. EXCEPTION: Residents on North St. who have a designated bike lane in front of their property may rake their leaves to the boulevard next to the curb.
- Leaf piles should not be larger than 2 metres wide.
- If you have many leaves and limited storage space in front of your property, you may need to prepare leaves in multiple batches.
- Do not rake any leaves to the curb after November 24.
- Leaves should not be placed where they may impede traffic flow or occupy the travel lane or at intersections. Keep sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains clear.
- Do not place branches, grass clippings, dirt, stones, rocks and garden plants out for collection. These materials can cause equipment failure and program delays.
- Do not allow children to play in leaf piles to ensure their safety.
- Do not park vehicles on top of leaf piles.
Note the program may be terminated at any time in the event of heavy snowfall.
Seasonal Parking Changes
The Town’s Traffic Bylaw prohibits overnight parking on all streets from November 15 - March 31, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. This allows snowplow operators to safely and efficiently remove snow from local roadways. Learn more about winter maintenance plans at www.tillsonburg.ca/snow
