VIBE Youth Drop-In Program
Are you 15-18 years old in Oxford County looking for a space that’s FREE to attend? How about a space where you are free to show up as your authentic self, without fear of judgment?
Communities Building Youth Futures Oxford County is working in collaboration with the Town of Tillsonburg and Oxford County Library (Tillsonburg) to present, VIBE. This youth social space that will run Thursdays, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the library (2 Library Lane), beginning September 26.
There will be a mix of free time and optional structured programming every week. The vision is for the program to be entirely shaped by the youth who attend, so join us to let us know what kinds of activities and experiences you’d like to see.
Zoning Bylaw Review
A comprehensive review of the Zoning By-law is currently underway in Tillsonburg. The review will look at all property uses including residential, commercial, industrial and institutional to ensure the new by-law is consistent with current legislation, policy and trends.

Fall Water System Maintenance
The Town of Tillsonburg will be conducting water system maintenance in the eastern half of Tillsonburg from September to November.
Flushing will take place Monday to Friday (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) in the following areas:
September 23-27
Areas north of North Street, and west of Cranberry Road
September 30-October 4
Areas south of North Street and north of Concession Street, between Broadway and Tillson Avenue
October 7-11
Areas east of Tillson Ave, between Beckett Boulevard and Concession Street East
October 14-18
Areas south of Concession Street and north of Bloomer Street/Oxford Street; between Broadway and West Town Line
October 28-November 1
Areas south of Simcoe Street and east of Bloomer Street
Residents may notice temporary cloudy or discoloured water when watermain flushing occurs. Do not do laundry during the day if your area is being flushed. You can help clear your line by simply turning on the cold water after flushing occurs. A map of the flushing area is available at online at www.tillsonburg.ca/fallflush
Big Brothers Big Sisters Month
September is Big Brothers Big Sisters Month! Did you know that as of July 2024, there were 149 young people on the Big Brothers Big Sisters waitlist in Oxford County, 31 of whom live in the Tillsonburg area?
Big Brothers Big Sisters has been providing mentoring services in Oxford County for 55 years, providing mentoring relationships to thousands of young people in that time!
You can support BBBSOC by:
- Highlighting what BBBSOC does in our community,
- Encouraging folks to consider mentoring,
- Attending BBBSOC events,
- Sharing social media posts and content.
